Supporting kids, teens, young adults, families, and communities on the Gold Coast and in Northern NSW

At K+C Village, we support children, teens and young adults to build confidence, independence and connection in everyday life. Through occupational therapy, community programs, education and workplace support, peer programs and family coaching, we help kids of all ages develop the skills they need to participate more confidently at home, school, work and in the community.

We believe every child and young person deserves to feel safe, included and able to be themselves. That is why our approach goes beyond therapy rooms. We work alongside families, educators, coaches, workplaces and community organisations to help create more inclusive environments where young people can learn, connect, belong and thrive.

The idea of a “village” reflects our belief that supporting children and young people well takes a community. When the important adults and environments around young people feel supported too, stronger participation, confidence and belonging can grow.

Based on the Gold Coast, and extending into Far Northern NSW, K+C Village provides occupational therapy and community-based supports for children, teens and school leavers across home, school, recreation, workplaces and everyday community life. Our vision quite simply is to be the way of change for creating and sustaining inclusive communities for all.

The foundations of K+C Village

At K+C Village, our work is guided by our village foundations that shape how we support kids, young people, and families.

We believe kids and teens grow through relationships. Strong connections with family, peers, and trusted adults create the foundation for confidence, well-being, and development of skills.  Our connections are what bring meaning to our lives.

We believe play is a powerful pathway for learning and development as well as connection. Through play and playful opportunities, kids explore ideas, build skills, practise social interactions, and discover who they are. Play and playfulness is ageless, and playful experiences and interactions are the cornerstone of our therapeutic approach at K+C Village.

We believe all people learn and grow through participating in everyday life, whether it’s joining in at school, building friendships, playing sport, helping at home, being part of a community, or having a first job. Participation creates the real experiences that build skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging and independence.

We believe every child and young person deserves opportunities to build independence in whatever way this is meaningful to them, developing the skills and confidence to do things for themselves in ways that are meaningful to them, which supports identity, self-belief, and self-efficacy.

We believe communities are strongest when everyone gets what they need to participate and engage, when environments are welcoming, flexible, and inclusive. Children with diverse strengths and needs can participate, contribute, and truly belong.

What’s in the Village?

At the centre of K+C Village is a child, young person, or young adult and their family. Around them sits a network of supports designed to strengthen participation, connection, and everyday life experiences.

While occupational therapy remains an important part of what we do, K+C Village is about much more than therapy alone. We offer therapeutic services both individually and through peer-based models, alongside a range of programmes that create real opportunities for kids and young people to build skills and independence. These supports are designed to work together to create meaningful, real-world outcomes for children, young people, young adults, and families.
